Kaushik Das — known as DJ Roop — is the sole Indian act from Kolkata to perform at Tomorrowland Belgium 2024, making him only the 5th Indian DJ to play the festival.
He started DJing in 2014 and trained at PartyMap DJ Academy under DJ Akhil Talreja, earning a full scholarship for his DJ and music production certification. He also taught at the Tomorrowland Foundation Music & Arts School in Kolkata.
On December 26, 2023, a Tomorrowland representative reached out. He was confirmed to perform on July 27, 2024 at the RISE Stage during Yves V presents V Sessions.
Day job: software engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, pursuing an M.Tech from Jadavpur University. Music wasn't a career pivot — it ran alongside everything else.
